Robert Lee Perry Sr

Robert Lee Perry Sr., age 76, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at Hospice house in Elkhart. Bob was born December 21,1939 in South Bend, Indiana to the late Charles and Esther (Milliken) Perry. The Washington Clay High School graduate later married Shirley Ann Styles on January 21, 1961 in the Methodist Church in South Bend, Indiana. They celebrated 54 years of marriage before her passing in June of 2015.

Bob is survived by six children; Rob (Karen) Perry Jr. of Fertile, Iowa, Scott (Diane) Perry of Mishawaka, Don (Tiffany) Perry of Osceola, Ron (Sara) Perry of Paw Paw, Michigan, John (Sally) Perry of Elkhart, and Peggie Johnson of Mishawaka. Also surviving are sixteen grandchildren: Ryan Perry, Nathan (Hannah) Perry, Melinda (Aaron) Vaughn, Steven Perry, Nick Perry, Nate Perry, Amanda Perry, Noah Perry, Jacob Perry, Alexander Johnson, Lydia Perry, Nicholas Johnson, Vivian Perry, Nicole Grace Perry, Connor O’Day and Riley O’Day and two great-grandchildren, Evan Vaughn and Cora Perry. Bob is also survived by his siblings Carol Henderson of Tampa, Florida and Richard Perry of Zephyr Hills, Florida. He was preceded in death by his sister Arlene Rhodes.

There will be one hour of calling prior to the 11:00 am Celebration of Life on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at Northway Church of Christ, 19525 Auten Road, South Bend, Indiana 46637. Zimmerman Inman Funeral Home is assisting with the arrangements.

Bob was an avid fisherman and golfer who loved to watch sports, especially football and Cubs baseball. He was employed as an automotive technician for many years throughout the Michiana area.

Mr. Perry was also an ordained minister and served his Savior as the Pastor of the Elkhart Church of Christ and the East Tampa Christian Church in Tampa, Florida. His ministry spanned more than fifty years.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the benevolence fund at Northway Church of Christ.
