Robin Denise Hartman, age 55 of Elkhart, passed away at Elkhart General Hospital on Saturday, July 24, 2021. Robin was born October 18, 1965 in Elkhart. She was preceded in death by her parents Thomas Hartman and Marjorie (Smith) Hartman-Sailor. Robin was a graduate of Memorial High School and later worked for several years with Utilimaster in Wakarusa and EFP of Elkhart in the quality control department.
She is survived by her daughter Cori (Kevin) Shively of Jones, Michigan, her grandsons Colton and Carter Shively and her sisters Kim Hartman and Michelle “Shelly” (Mark) Grahovac, both of Elkhart.
Following Robin’s wishes, there will be no services. Her family asks that you remember her in your own unique way.
Robin loved being on the beach and spending time out in the sunshine. Her passion to help others led to her becoming certified as a first aid responder and she was adamant about keeping her certification current. She also loved to volunteer her time at the Potawatomi Zoo in South Bend for many years.
Most of all, Robin was a unique and independent soul who loved to spread her generosity to others in need. Most of all, she loved being a mother, grandmother and sister to her family.
In lieu of flowers, donations may me made to the Potawatomi Zoo in her memory for the recently opened “Big and Loud” lion and giraffe exhibit.
