Roger Lee Rice, age 84 of Goshen, passed away at Elkhart General Hospital on March 18, 2022.  Roger was born December 24, 1937, in Elkhart, Indiana to the late Max and Helen (McClintic) Rice. Roger attended Elkhart High School before enlisting in the United States Air Force where he served his country honorably from 1955-1960.

Surviving is his son Randy K. Rice of Edwardsburg, Michigan and his grandchildren Ryan Mason and Brooke Fawcett.  He was preceded in death by his daughter Michelle Mason in 2012, his grandson Brandon Mason in 2010 and his brother Max LaMar Rice in 2019.

A celebration of Roger’s life will be held from 4-6pm Thursday, March 24, 2022, at Cruz Family Funeral Home in Osceola.  Funeral services will be private.

Roger was the owner of Rice’s Auto Body in Elkhart for many years.  Even after retirement, Roger found joy in restoring classic cars.  In his younger years, Roger enjoyed spending time on the river in his boat, traveling out West, especially to Las Vegas, and watching drag racing at the local tracks. He also will be remembered for his extensive collection of fedoras.
