Sandra Elaine Squint, age 73 of Mishawaka, passed away with her family by her side on Saturday, December 21, 2024. Sandy was born November 13, 1951, in South Bend, Indiana to the late Estol “Whitey” and Marjorie “Bonnie” (Norred) White. In January of 1979, Sandy married Richard Edward Squint Sr in Mishawaka. Richard and Sandy celebrated 44 years of marriage prior to his passing in 2023.
She is survived by her children, Angela Von-Ciel (David) Lynn, Kevin Michael (Tabatha) Lynn, Anthony (Cynthia) Squint, Richard (Kay) Squint Jr. and Steven (Angie) Squint, along with 10 grandchildren; Alex, McKenna and Braxton Lynn and Seaira, Gary, Samantha, Ritchie, Callie, Stevie and Denae, and Joey Squint. Her brother Charles “Chuck” White survives as well. Sandy was preceded in death by her brothers Alfred White and Kevin White.
There will be no formal services for Sandy. Cruz Family Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Osceola has been entrusted with her care.
Sandy began her career caring for others at a local nursing home, where her compassion touched numerous lives. Later, she took a position at Nyloncraft in Mishawaka, where she continued on until her retirement.
In her younger years, Sandy enjoyed bowling, camping under the stars, and going to family cookouts where laughter and love filled the air. She enjoyed listening to classic country music and she could often be found watching her favorite TV show, Gunsmoke. Sandy also enjoyed playing a good game of cards with friends or family.
Above all, Sandy’s heart belonged to her family. She adored her grandchildren and treasured every moment spent with them. Some of her happiest memories were made during trips to Alabama, a place that held special significance as the home of her parents.
