Scott Alan Goble, age 55, passed from his wife’s loving arms into his Savior’s at 3:16 am Tuesday, September 24, 2019 surrounded by his family and close friends at his home. Scott was born January 31, 1964 in Logansport, Indiana to John and Carol (McDonald) Goble. Scott was a graduate of Winamac Community High School, class of 1982. Scott graduated from Anderson College in 1987 with a BA in Sports Medicine and Athletic Training. In 1989 he completed the Mayo Clinic Physical Therapy program in Rochester, MN. He later obtained his MBA from Bethel College where he also served as a Certified Athletic Trainer. Scott has been employed for many years as an outpatient Physical Therapist with St. Joseph Medical Center in Mishawaka. On December 19, 1987, Scott married the love of his life, Leanne Fisher in Union City, Indiana. Scott and Leanne moved to South Bend in 1989; later residing in Granger then moving to their current home in the Edwardsburg area.
Leanne survives, along with his father John “Jack” Goble of Winamac, Indiana and his siblings Shirley Shidler of Winamac, Susan (Bill) Morris of Rochester, and Stuart (Doris) Goble of Upland, Indiana. Also surviving are his wife’s siblings and their families including nieces and nephews on both sides. Scott loved his nieces and nephews very much including many friends and their children whom Scott also held dear. He was preceded in death by his mother Carol Goble in 1985.
Visitation will be held from 4-8 pm Thursday, September 26, 2019 at Cruz Family Funeral Home in Osceola. A casual celebration of Scott’s life will be held beginning at 5:00 pm Friday, September 27, 2019 at the outdoor pavilion of the Edwardsburg Sports Complex, 27566 US 12, Edwardsburg, Michigan 49112. In Scott’s honor, his family asks if possible, to wear Cubs, Bears, Purdue or Tie-Died shirts, all things Scott was extremely fond of.
Scott was a creative spirit whose entrepreneurial skills were unmatched. Besides his career in physical therapy, Scott was a screenwriter and director, marketing guru, craft beer aficionado, and wine maker. He also enjoyed studying history, especially American history including the Civil War and WWII.
His faith in the Lord was strong, using the journey of his illness to show God’s presence in his life for the ultimate purpose of touching theirs. He also loved his “Framily” just as much. He and the men of his family were also “Loyal Members of the Water Buffalo” and celebrated each other’s membership whenever they had a chance.
