Sharon F. Orbin went to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 21, 2022, at 8:52 pm. She was surrounded by her husband and family. Sharon was born in Terre Haute, Indiana to Rev. Paul and Hazel Norris on May 29, 1945. On March 3, 1962, she married her high school sweetheart, Calvin Orbin. They recently celebrated their 6oth wedding anniversary.
Sharon and Calvin lived in Michigan for a time in 1967, and then later moved to Mishawaka where the family still resides. Sharon is survived by their two children, Tania (Carl) Grant and Keith (Kathy) Orbin, three grandchildren, Stephanie Fowler, LeAyre (Brad) Moore, and Jacob Orbin and two great-grandchildren, Quentin Fowler and Kaylee Moore. Cal was the light of her life. Sharon was preceded in death by her mother and father and two brothers, Paul Wesley Norris Jr., who passed before Sharon was born, and Charles Leroy, whom she loved so much and could always make her laugh.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 26 from 4:00-6:00 PM at the Ireland Rd. Church of God, 16555 E Ireland Rd, Mishawaka, IN. Bishop Charles B. Wiseman will officiate the funeral service immediately following visitation at 6:00 PM. For those unable to attend, Cruz Family Funeral Home of Osceola will stream the service in real time beginning 15 minutes prior to the service in the box below.
Sharon was in Church her whole life, she loved the Church of God. She worked in the church doing several jobs. She also worked at several places in Indiana: Ridgedale Nursing Home, Miami Floral, and in the J.C. Penny’s men’s department, as well as in her daughter’s-in-law cleaning service.
In her spare time, Sharon enjoyed drawing, arranging flowers, and working large needlepoint projects. She had an eye for decorating and shared her talent with her family and her church family as she would decorate her home and the church for holidays throughout the year. Christmas was her favorite holiday. Her family enjoyed giving her unique ornaments for her tree and as the amount of ornaments continued to grow throughout the years, Sharon was known to keep her fully decorated Christmas tree up well past the holiday!
Sharon had several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews she loved. She loved taking care of all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They were the light of her life, and she had so much fun with all of them. She loved her family immensely. She adored her husband and always said “Cal was the best husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather ever, and that there will never be another one like him.” We will all miss you so much, more than you will ever know.
