Shirley Ann Perry

July 15, 1940 — June 22, 2015

Shirley Ann Perry, age 74, of Mishawaka, went to be with the Lord on Monday, June 22, 2015 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Mishawaka. Shirley was born July 15, 1940 in South Bend, Indiana to the late Jack and Ruth (Wynn) Styles. The Riley High School graduate married Robert L. Perry Sr. on January 21, 1961 at the United Methodist Church in South Bend.
Surviving is her husband of 54 years, Robert “Bob” Perry Sr. of Mishawaka, and their children, Rob (Karen) Perry of Fertile, IA, Scott Perry of Mishawaka, Don (Tiffany) Perry of Osceola, Ron (Sara) Perry of Matawan, MI, John (Sally) Perry of Elkhart, and Peggie Johnson of Mishawaka. Shirley is also survived by 14 grandchildren and her siblings, Bob (Peggy) Styles of Granger and Cindy (Dale) Sherman of Eureka, IL.
There will be one hour of calling prior to the 10:00 am celebration of Shirley’s life on Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at Northway Church of Christ, 19525 Auten Road, South Bend, IN 46637. Zimmerman-Inman Funeral Home of Osceola is handling arrangements.
Shirley was a thoughtful and caring soul, who put the needs of others before her own. She spent many years as a Pastor’s wife, showing the love of Christ by providing for her family, giving guidance and direction to others, and loving those who were “unlovable.” She also enjoyed working at a nursing home in her spare time, nurturing and caring for patients, but most of all, Shirley’s favorite job was that of a homemaker. She loved babies and children, spending time with her husband Bob, her children, her grandchildren, and her “four-legged children”, Brownie, Cookie, Candy, and Oreo. Though she was fighting an illness, Shirley recently discovered her talent for painting pictures.
She formerly attended Elkhart Church of Christ where her husband pastored for several years, the Harris Prairie Church of Christ in Granger, and most recently the Northway Church of Christ in South Bend.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Northway Church of Christ.
