Steven Craig Pietrzak, 56, of Mishawaka, Indiana, passed away Tuesday February 14, 2023, 8:23 am, at the St. Joseph Regional Medical Center. He was born August 24, 1966, to the late Ronald and Jacqueline (Bybee) Pietrzak at Memorial Hospital in South Bend, Indiana.
Steve is survived by his brother Greg (Theresa) Pietrzak of Mishawaka, his sister Tina Wade of Erlanger, Kentucky; his aunts, Sharon (Jim) Haas of Decatur, Michigan, and Karen (Ron) Hobkirk of Mishawaka; his uncle, Pat (Debbie) Bybee of Jones, Michigan; his nephews, Brett (Sarah) Jackson, Brandon Taylor, and Aaron Taylor; his nieces, Sonya Hamel, Becky Pietrzak, and Brianna Wade, Melissa (Matt) Rodino, and Janice (Dave) Terry; his several cousins, and his numerous great nieces and nephews. Steven was preceded by his brother Curtis Pietrzak.
Steve was a fun-loving, dutiful, and adventurous family man. He worked as a machinist for Welded Products and Fabrication for over ten years. Steve honorably served his country when he enlisted in the United States Army. He was proud of his time serving in the United States Army, so he continued to serve as part of the color guard. Steve was an active member of the American Legion, post 308.
Steve cherished time outdoors and often spent hours hunting for mushrooms. He kept a vast vegetable garden which he used in his delicious home cooked meals, his specialty, and family favorite, was his home-made polish sausage. Steven always loved to share his cooking and time with his family. He particularly enjoyed smoking a brisket for family get togethers’ and cook-outs, where he doted on his nephews and nieces. But, above all, he loved having a regular weekly meal with his brother.
