Terry Milton "Sid" Stephens

Terrance Milton “Sid” Stephens, age 85 of Osceola, passed away at his home on Wednesday, September 15, 2021.  Terry was born August 17, 1936 in Sault St. Marie, Michigan to the late Colan and Violet (Weston) Stephens.  On August 27, 1960, Terry married Iris (Watson)Holderman.   She preceded him in death on September 4, 2017.

Surviving are his children Robert “Bob” (Linda) Stephens of Mishawaka, Cindy (Rebecca Lanning) Stephens of South Bend, Chris (Cathy) Stephens of Osceola, and Rhonda Draves of Florida.  Surviving as well are 13 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and his siblings Conrad Stephens, Michael Stephens and Kathy Gunter.  Terry was preceded in death by his sons Terry Stephens and Kirk Stephens, his son in law Dennie Draves, and his brothers Frederick and Ronald Stephens.

Visitation will be held from 4-8 pm Monday, September 20, 2021, at Cruz Family Funeral Home in Osceola.  There will also be one hour of visitation prior to the 11:00 am funeral service on Tuesday, September 21, 2021. Pastor Davy Troxel of Grace Brethren Church will officiate the services. A live stream of the services will begin broadcasting on the website 10 minutes prior to the beginning of the service. Terry will be laid to rest beside his wife Iris at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.

Terry was a graduate of Edwardsburg High School in Edwardsburg, Michigan and was employed in the local factories until 1981 when he made the decision to open Stephen’s Auto Sales in downtown Osceola.  Sid owned and operated his business until the passing of his wife in 2017 when he passed the business down to his son Chris.  During the summers, Terry loved taking his family on many wonderful vacations.

He loved watching sports and working with cars. His favorite teams were the Chicago White Sox and the Green Bay Packers, and he loved watching Drag Racing and NASCAR, but he truly loved supporting his children and grandchildren as they participated in local sports.
