Valerie Lynne (Victory) Conrady, age 51, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Tuesday morning, February 23, 2021 surrounded by her family. She was a graduate of the class of 1988 from Penn High School and then earned her bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Journalism from Indiana University in Bloomington. Her education and degrees led to her obtaining a position as a freelance writer for Golden Dome Productions and St. Mary’s College in Notre Dame, Indiana.

Also surviving is her mother Ellen Victory of Osceola, her sisters Lori Thompson and her husband Bob of Osceola, Jamie Johnson and her husband Craig of Mishawaka, and LeAnn Bruntz and her husband Keith of Osceola, as well as her nieces and nephews Janelle Lundgren and her husband Derek, Kelsey Smith and her husband Daniel, Trevor Johnson and his fiancée Amy Hein, Rachel Johnson, Maura Johnson, Sydney Johnson and Grace Bruntz. Funeral Services will be held at 11 am on Saturday, February 27, 2021 at South Side General Baptist Church with interment to follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Cruz Family Funeral Home of Osceola has been entrusted with her care.
Valerie was a kind, caring mother who above all else was devoted to ensuring Drew and Brooke never wanted for anything. She loved her nieces and nephews, cherishing her role as Aunt Val. She took in her children’s friends as if they were her own – making sure they always felt at home in her home. Always willing to help out in her children’s classrooms, Valerie would seek out the underdog, kids who needed the time and attention from someone who wanted every kid to feel loved and important. She would look for these same children as she taught them at church. Her skills in hospitality were shown as she worked in Women's Ministries at her church. She was fiercely competitive in all aspects of life, a trait that most certainly was passed down to her children. An amazing gift giver, Valerie had a knack for delivering personal notes at just the right time with just the right message. And when the kids were facing particularly difficult challenges, she would guide them back to one of her favorite bible verses – a timely reminder for all those who loved her and are grieving her passing: Philippians 4:13 “I can do all this through Him who gives me strength.”
Valerie's family would like to thank their pastor, Jeff Little, for his friendship and presence in Valerie's life and theirs too for many years. Brandon Cruz has been added to our long list of friends in Christ who are walking through this valley with us.
