Vivian J. Singleton, age 91, of Osceola, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at Hubbard Hills Estates in Elkhart. Vivian was born February 23, 1924 in Elkhart, Indiana to the late Elmer and Blanche (Andrews) Kindig. Following graduation from High School, Vivian joined the US Navy, and served honorably during WWII until her discharge in 1946. On March 27, 1948, she married LeRoy Singleton in Osceola. LeRoy preceded her in death, passing away August 18, 1974. Surviving are her sons, Phil (Karen) Singleton of Mishawaka, Gary (Debra) Singleton of Jacksonville, North Carolina, and David Singleton of Osceola. Vivian is also survived by her sister Goldie Bergman of Elkhart, and four granddaughters; Julie (Todd) Bradley & Danielle (Mark) Stapleton, both of Mishawaka, Kelly (Jake) Brown of Osceola, and Krista (Joe) Coletti of Granger. Surviving as well are ten great-grandchildren; Taylor, Tyler, Troy, and Tanner Bradley, Renee and Kylee Stapleton, Brody and Raylin Brown, and Joslyn and Parker Coletti. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews. Vivian was preceded in death by her sisters Edna Deak, Lillian Squires, and Eva Jean Trowbridge. Visitation will be held from 5-8 pm Thursday, April 2, 2015 at Zimmerman-Inman Funeral Home in Osceola. Reverend Bob Vale will conduct the 11:00 am funeral service on Friday, April 3, 2015 at Osceola United Methodist Church in Osceola. Interment and Military Honors will follow in Olive Cemetery West in Elkhart. Vivian retired at the age of 60 as the Assistant Manager and Vice President of Chiphone Federal Credit Union after 27 years of service. She was a life member of the American Legion Post #308 and it's Ladies Auxiliary. She was also a member of Osceola United Methodist Church for over 50 years, and enjoyed spending time in Bible Study.
