Wilbur L. Pennington January 14, 1936 - August 18, 2014 ELKHART- Wilbur L. Pennington, 78, of Elkhart, passed away on Monday August 18, 2014 at Golden Living Center. He was born January 14, 1936 in Otway, Ohio to the late Morton & Ollie (Jackson) Pennington. On July 21, 1972 in Elkhart he married Carolyn J. Stickel. She preceded him in death on August 19, 2004 in Elkhart. Surviving are three daughters, Gaylene (Guy) Shepherd of Elkhart, Angela Brown of Dayton, OH, Kelly (William) Legg of Osceola; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and a sister, Wanda Preston of Grover Hills, OH. He was preceded in death by seven brothers, Johnny, Ralph Jr., James, Millard, Donald, Stanley, Kenneth and two sisters, Clara and Mary and a granddaughter, Maegan Marie Wilbur was a veteran of the United States Air Force, a member of the Zion Missionary Church and enjoyed bowling and spending winters in Avon Park, Florida. He worked for Taylor Products and Creation Windows. Visitation for family and friends will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at Zimmerman-Inman Funeral Home in Osceola. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday August 23, 2014 at the funeral home. Pastor Bud Granger will preside and burial will follow in Olive (West) Cemetery where there will be military honors rendered. Memorial contributions may be given to the National Kidney Foundation.
