William "Bill" L. Jones

William L. “Bill” Jones, age 70, of South Bend, passed away on November 26, 2024, surrounded by his family. Born on September 9, 1954, in Eau Claire, Michigan, he was the son of the late Floyd and Ella Larmon. A proud graduate of Eau Claire High School, Bill dedicated his career to his trade as a union painter with Painter’s Union Local #1118. In addition to his work, Bill was a successful real estate investor who took great pride in his properties and treated his tenants with kindness and fairness. He had a passion for maintaining and improving his own home as well as his rentals, always staying busy working on projects around the properties. 

Bill’s greatest joy came from spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by his son, Nick (DaLynn) Jones of Mishawaka, and his beloved granddaughters, Laila, Grace, Adalynn, and Lilyahna, whom he cherished deeply. He also leaves behind his significant other, Iris Celedio; his sisters, Vivian Topping, Lisa Olsen, and Susan Wampler; his favorite nephew, James Popke; several other nieces and nephews; and his best friend, Dallas Merrill. He was preceded in death by his son, Adam Jones, his sister, Vicki Popke and his former wife, Merri Jones. 

Visitation will be held from 4-6 pm Saturday, December 7, 2024, at Cruz Family Funeral Home of Osceola with funeral services to follow at 6pm. 

Bill loved the outdoors, whether taking his pontoon boat out on the St. Joseph River or attending classic car shows. He especially enjoyed sharing his passion for cars with his sons, making memories with his boys at the Street Rod Nationals. He had a wonderful sense of humor, and Bill was always the life of the party, bringing laughter and joy to everyone around him. He loved going out to eat with his family, standing up for what was right, and being a steady source of support and love for those he cared about.

Bill’s legacy is one of kindness, integrity, and a deep love for his family. He will be remembered for his laughter, generosity, and unconditional love for those he held dear.
