Woodrow Lowe, Jr, 82, of Elkhart entered final rest Wednesday, March 5, at home with his family by his side. He was born to the late Woodrow Lowe, Sr and Narcissus A. Nickoson on July 3, 1942 in Cannelton, WV.
Surviving is his significant other, Emma Confer and his children, Toney and Scott Lowe, both of Elkhart, Tammy (Jim) Worman of Waterloo, IN, Raymond (Brandy) Lowe of Franklin, VA, and Diana (Jeffrey) Karre, of Elkhart, his siblings Nick (Sharon) Nickoson of Edwardsburg, MI, Libby Lowe of Boomer, WV, and Bill (Sandy) Lowe of Bristol, IN, 18 grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren also survive, along with a very close cousin, who was like a sister, Betty June in Rock Cave, W.V.
Woodrow dedicated his career to life on the road as an over-the-road truck driver, navigating countless miles across the country. Despite the demands of his profession, his true joy came from spending quality time with his family. He especially cherished trips to West Virginia, where he could hunt and enjoy the great outdoors with loved ones, and camping on “the lake” in Middlebury, where he created lasting memories with family and friends. Known for his generous spirit, Woodrow was a selfless giver, always willing to lend a helping hand in any way he could. Whether it was assisting a friend in need or simply offering a kind gesture, his heart was always open. He also had a gift for storytelling and a knack for humor, delighting those around him with his jokes and lively tales. His presence brought warmth, laughter, and an unwavering sense of support to everyone he encountered.
In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place with a private family celebration of life scheduled for a later date.
